I am curious if anyone is on their last vehicle. Basically given your age you don't think you will be getting another vehicle.
You checkin out anytime soon? Thought I remember a news story sometime ago featuring a 95 year old at a Cadillac dealer buying his next car. Said he buys a brand new one every year.

I am on my last car. When it dies, I retire and move to some warmer and poorer place. Maybe I'll get another car there, but it needs to be a pure off roader, good wading depth etc...

Should have another 8 to 10 years though.

How would you know?

Exactly.

I had a childhood friend that died of cancer at 10. Later, my best friend from highschool on, passed away in his sleep at 35. No warning, and no cause found.

I plan to be around for some time to come. But who knows...

Yes, I am on my last car. turning 90 in early April. My Son will get my 2017 Honda civic when I can no longer drive. He lives close enough to us to be able to drive us to Appts.

Future events may make every single one of our cars illegal.

FTR I don't consider EVs cars. Cars have ICEs. Golf carts are battery powered. And yes, I know what the Model S is capable of. Give me a Holden HSV GTSR W1 as my casket and I would be a happy man. Bury me in my boots, and one of these!

I'd be miserable if I had to drive the focus for another 49 years lol.

I have an Estate plan in place so when it happens it happens. I expect to live to 100+ and still go to an Aqua arobicis class to save what I have. This is not depressing at all but, looking ahead to protect others. Head stuck in sand hole doesn't make the possibility disappear. The end.

Likely the last non-electric (or at least non-hybrid) vehicles for us. The RAM will stick around until it explodes beyond repair, the BMW will stick around until the repair costs start hurting (nothing yet, knock on wood), and the Jeep is a lifetime purchase.

Based on age?

It is a legitimate question...

It's still depressing never the less.

That being said-My truck and my wife's Santa Fe XL will be replaced in the next one (my truck) to four years (Santa Fe), and those replacements will probably will be our last vehicles.

When I was a GP I had an elderly practice. I didn't consider patients old until they were at least 95. My oldest patient was 107 and in good health when I left for further training. My second oldest was still cheating at cards when he was 104 - then died suddenly 2 weeks short of 105. I had an almost 90 year old ask if there was any reason she shouldn't get married (to a younger man I might add). And I couldn't think of any.

So I don't consider "turning 90" very old.

83 this month and just purchased a 2021 Mazda CX5 turbo. I hope to be still driving it when I'm 93. Yes, my last vehicle. Ed
How do like it? A neighbor is thinking about his last car and that one is on the list. He will finance it although has plenty of money. One thing about financing is you can get a 30 year mortgage at 100 years old and it isn’t anyone’s business. I like the look and sound of them, which is they sound quiet.
