hi folks, i am driving a honda CRV 2007. just bought a 4L pack of 4x4 oil for oil change this week. am wondering if i can keep the other 2L for the next change (likely 1 year from now).

anyone knows if 4x4 oil is hygroscopic?

Should be fine to keep the other 2L for next year. Close the bottle, of course. Gear oil is not hygroscopic enough to cause problems.

I'm pretty sure, at least ... I know I would use the gear oil after a year without worrying about it.

it will be fine its not like brake fluid.

just put the cap on right.. maybe store it somewhere climate controlled if you are OCD.
