irritating problems and issues on a used car for sale

Freind looking for a newish truck goes to the gm dealer here and finds a decent ride, dash is lit up with messages....sales says don't worry- buy the truck and we'll sort it later. FU fix it before it hits the sale lot. 2025 6.6 2500. 60k with 60k km
No reputable dealer should try to sell anything with a CEL or even a TPMS light. Fix it then put it on the lot. Lazy #@$%&@!!!

Don’t worry. It’s just the gas cap. 🤣
I don't understand the logic- they would have sold it on the spot if running correct. He's still rocking a 09 ford 6.0L desiel as the price of trucks are stupid now- he does want a gasser now preferably Toyota- but Toyota has their own issues.

It surprises me the number of older BMWs and Mercedes around here that are detailed beautifully, but blow blue smoke going down the road.
Diesel perhaps?

2007 was the last year of a 6.0L in an F-Series so a 2009 would have the 6.4L.

If you fall for that, then IMO, it’s on you.
But I guess plenty of people do fall for this since they’re offering such vehicles for sale to begin with.

That reminds me.. friend was looking at buying a hyundai elantra gt and wanted me to look at it. Go to dealer, test drive it, no salesperson with me, pull over and plug in my obd2 scanner. Guess what?! Tons of emissions related codes and the CEL was turned off about 25 times! It's nice how the ECU tells on them!

what they kept doing was clearing the codes that turned off the CEL but the emissions test cycle was never at the ready status. Could see how many times the CEL was turned off. They couldn't care less that they'd offload a lemon on someone as long as they get that sale. Oh that dealer is now out of business.. good!

No, I didn't let my friend buy that car. But I do also remember a terrible vibration while on the test drive, it wasn't the tires.. You're going to love this. The CHASSIS was like a wet noodle and it was setting up harmonics that wiggled the chassis.. Just wow.
