Iridium plugs: cleaner emissions, better mileage?

To answer the OP's question, yes the Honda has iridium plugs and was not spec'ed for them. We have noticed no change in fuel mileage since installation.

It should be said that much was done at the same time, so if there was a change, it would be difficult to attribute anyway.

Although they don't "all spark the same" which you can prove to yourself by watching an oscilloscope, each type of plug will serve fine for the their respective service interval.

Yes, and Denso's site also states this very clearly as well.

Anything that last longer would have cleaner emission and better mileage than their neglected counterpart. Judging from people like my father in law who never change his plugs or tune up, a lot of cars on the road would have plugs worn 2x to 3x pass the recommended interval.

So, statistically speaking, iridium plugs will bring cleaner emissions and better mileage.
