This is not a real "problem" really...
I am just curious:
On win 7 (pro), on my lenovo laptop, when I look at my network map, all the devices connected to our home network are showing up, laptops, TV, Roku, etc, BUT NOT MY IPHONE...
It's always connected to the home wifi, and I can use it without any problem...

why is it missing from the Network Map?
I even did the "add a wireless devices" thing, but it still couldn't find it.

It's showing correctly under "Devices and Printers" under control panel, and also under "my computer" when connected via USB cable.

I have Avast! Free as my AV.
It's just not in the NETWORK map!

Any ideas?

if the device is not sharing or available it wont show up.

probably not the exact terms to use.

It's awake, and not in locked or sleep mode, if that's what you meant by "available" ...
Not sure about what you meant by "sharing"...

short answer: its normal.

none of my phones show up.

If you were running some kind of server/service from your phone ex: a dlna server it would show up.

Why it doesnt show up.. not sure.

Yeah, it won't show up on a Windows "network map", but you should see it connected to your router if you go into the router configuration page.

you will see it from your computer only if (wireless) you activate your iphone "hotspot" (and thrust the computer)
if not you should see it in the list of ip/MAC on your router/switch device. (like others have said)
