Seriously. Dont mind ARR, but Im not liking my LINE exposure, besides what I have to DCA for the long run.

Will be interesting to see if/what PF says about LINE.

Good luck with LINE. I got 15k worth. Should be good for the long run...

I sold 40K of PONDX in my Rollover to lock in nice gains as it's starting to wane.

Good day to be short!

Anyone care to give me their thoughts on GEL and ACT?

Im about 300% up on ACT and 100% up on GEL, and both have taken some really great recent increases and seem to be topping...

I dont need the money, and at this point would likely sit on it or buy something that pays a monthly dividend and is really low risk, to wait out any corrections.

I cant see there being much up from here given recent increases and what looks to me like a head and shoulders.

Opinions on GEL and ACT??

I may buy more ARR, but Im not sure if all the leverage and rate change risk is priced in yet...

I don't know ACT well, but you're up 300%?? You may want to consider taking fantastic profits, but that's just me. IMHO only...

Any bogleheads on here? Index investing with as little as 3 funds (or ETFs). Also known as 'lazy portfolios'.

http://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Three-fund_portfolio

I have a 4 fund portfolio through Vanguard for my Roth IRA and use ETFs for a super low ER. With work's 457 plan I have more fees and less options, so I have a 5 fund setup to get my desired asset allocation.
Have very little in sole stocks to 'play' with.

Tons of reading on them, this is a good summary http://www.smartmoney.com/invest/strateg...-1332871750552/

I've adopted a similar strategy using this system for longer term investing; it's based on ETF index investing using relative strength and rotating on a periodic basis. I still think, after 2000, and 2008, that it's prudent to take some measures to protect yourself from big bear markets. Another 2008 type plunge can wipe out a lot of wealth.

http://www.scottsinvestments.com/2010/05/29/an-expanded-etf-relative-strength-rotation-system/

It can only be feasible in a tax deferred account though. Seems like a pretty darn good system; no indicators, no moving averages, hardly any thinking involved, but the returns don't lie. It will keep you in the meat of up moves and keep you protected from big down moves.

^ some interesting reading on rotation ETF/fund strategies.

Unfortunately, the limited options in my 457 plan would make any style other than passive, fruitless.
Perhaps as my Roth assets go up, it would be worthwhile to look into another strategy. I'd need to do lots more reading and research first.
I've only really been paying attention for ~7 months WRT my retirement accounts. Best move I've done is to keep upping my 457 contributions!

Its rare of the McClellan Oscillator to get as low as it is now which is -329.78. This reading has signaled several bottoms in the past. Not a time to be short so you may want to cover if you are.
