The hard part is not trading for emotional reasons. Like GLW last year. I keep notes on info I think is important. I have a copy of Notepad open on the desktop. I'll make an entry something like this;
-------------------------
03/01/07
Yahoo message board.
FXI is a buy at $95
[follow up]
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=fxi&x=53&y=14
iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index (FXI)
Closed at 96.66, down from 105 on Mon.
[buy at 98-99, sell at 105-108??]
When to trade??
--------------------------------
Most notes are not this detailed, but you get the idea.

This file is called stuff.txt and I save it every so often.
Many times, I never get back to the entry, but it is there if I want it.

I'm sorry. Pablo's still king.

Somehow I picture Groucho Marx speaking when you make comments like that. (Not sure why

) King of NOThing is more like it.

I was studying my portfolio chart for trends, etc. We are at a firm resistance line, plus several recent repetitions. So here's my prediction: We will be volatile. We will go up a little and then back down even more with the low point being mid April and chug up and down for 2-3 months. Then finally the market will slowly climb, nothing spectacular just climbing the rim.

FIREX is still up for me 22%, but it's getting beat up pretty good. Hang in there. Land is not reproducing at an exponential rate.

This little bit of strength this morning is just a short-covering squeeze, IMO. I doubt if we've hit the bottom yet. Pablo's prediction is as good as any.....I'd like to see another 500 point Dow drop (capitulation), then jump in with buy orders.

Well, I'm out of cash, I loaded up on my winners, Couple of weeks, I'll know it this was a good idea or not. I tell you what, this is not a business for the faint of heart....

You can say that again, OMPG1. I too bought some this morning. A lot of the fear has dissipated, so the selling has slowed and the short-covers are buying back. I think we'll get a bounce here, but don't know how long it'll last.....

My favorite trader is Tom Obrian at TFNN.com. He says the market will go down till October. He even puts a exact # on it. I can't tell you how many times he is right. Perhaps Bonds may rebound in the meantime. With mega mergers like ATT and Bell South the layoffs will be astounding if need be. But so will the profits.
