I sold Aries Capital just now.
Had 10k shares....held it three days for a $1 a share payout.
Getting back in before the 13th for the lucrative dividend .

There are so many variables that the models don't take into account, it really boils down to a personal decision.
Looking simply at the crossover point of total amount received by 83(?) years old doesn't take into account the time value of money. I built out a spreadsheet comparing taking it at 64 when I retired vs. my FRA of 66 and investing the payment during those years. Not considering taxes, figuring a 5% or better return on investment, it was always better to take it early. While my example was 64 to 66, the same numbers would work from 62 to 70.
So why did I wait until 70 to collect? Guaranteed money with a guaranteed COLA applied to the difference in amounts. Plus spouses widow benefit based on my payment. Also lower income between 64 to 70 allowed me to rollover more to Roth.
If I was single and didn't have to convert to Roth I would have taken it as soon as I retired.

Some thoughts on medicare insurance. We did the Supplemental Plan for years It tot to be $10K per year.

We now have the Highmark Complete Blue - Merit Plan. Not only do we not pay anything for the plan. they pay each (me and wife)of us $1100 per year. There are copays for specialists (not regular docs) emergency room vistis ($115), Hospital room (initially $400, 115 from day 6 on), Free Skilled Nursing (for 20 days), Outpatient surgery $375. They pay $1000 for hearing aids, $200 for glasses, 50% Dental up to $3000. Max OOP for Drugs $1160. Total OOP is $8300 our very trusted insurance rep said he has never seen it above $4500. Max in spall number of cases is around$2000.

So things like Dental, Drugs, Optical, hearing are better than Supplemental. And you pay very dearly for the rest which are 100% covered. In this upside down world those paying the high price are helping to keep advantage plans down.

Agood froend of mine who has had Advantage for25+ years has saved probably $100,000 in 25 years

We've had Part C for awhile, it's been good to us as well.
They hit us up every year for a wellness evaluation, that we decline. They offer to send over a health expert to evaluate our health.
We always explain that we get evaluated every year by our own actual doctor - "No Thank You."
Basically they are trying to add conditions to what they can charge Medicare for.
If it ever comes down to looking for a new company - I'm pretty sure everything they add will be considered a pre-existing condition.

BOAT... = Bring On Another Thousand, BOAT.

enjoy, we had an RV (36' TT) for 8 years before I sold it and started my FFR Cobra. Trust me the RV was cheaper, but I think I'll have a lot more fun in a 427 FFR Cobra.
