I sold my long term hold WMT today. 😢 and took the profit. $97.10

Not sure why, feeling a little uneasy short term and feel I can always buy it back, I HOPE.
Held it for gosh must be close to 6 years and previously sold off 1/3rd after the 3 for one split, now sold off the other 2/3rds.

Mistake? Maybe I feel a bit unsettled with the uncertainly taking place as far as government cost cutting yet Walmart usually excels in those times HOWEVER it is trading at historical high P/E ... so ... Im sad ... but .. well whatever.

For all I know I might own it tomorrow again or if I can find one sure thing to invest 50% of my portfolio. Yes, WMT occupied 50% of my investment and how much I love this company for safety... but Im unsure the direction of the world right now.

Realized gain/loss for 2025

Congrats on your realized gain. Walmart is a well run company. Very well run...

Yeah, I have a lot of respect for the company and a tremendous amount of respect for the CEO
Doug McMillon
Doug started off his career at Walmart as a teenager working part time unloading trucks at Walmart after school.
We truly live in the land of opportunity for those who pursue a passion through thick and thin and never give up.

I am in for the long haul (actually, retiring in 8-13 years).

Debating on having my investments reviewed by a pro. Last time, after about 18 months I terminated the contract when he said he really doesn't have many changes

I agree with @Pablo.

The only comment I would add - and its not good or bad - but your 5 funds are not at all diversified. I am willing to bet if you look at their content they hold the exact same equities. If that is what you wanted, then great. Just pointing it out.

Thanks. I should've noted it better.

Those are my best performing funds.

I have many more.

You are diversified in some ways. I say carry on. There are some FEW really good money managers out there. But you won't find them.
I have a sibling and her husband. Upper to higher end (she managed an accounting division) vocations long retired now. Poured their money into 401k's ( I don't know the scope of how much) but they always had a financial advisor handling. Nicest people you would ever meet, nice home, good life, yet you won't see them driving a BMW or higher. you will see them in a Honda Accord or similar.

Anyway I just had this conversation with her because she is aware of the advisor industry (meaning they are street smart) but she told me this one was a good one. The money just keeps pouring in, carefree, they think the world of their advisor. Good for them, they got one of the few, I wouldn't have the nerve to trust another.
They live active full lives and my family and other siblings do too but we can see, her and her family is clearly a cut above that. I dont think I can say I spend money carefree, I wish I could. They have not a concern in the world and always on a plane someplace, most times if not another country, visiting their children in other states. Many friends in their home town too, very active and healthy, much older then me too *LOL*

I'm not a dividend type of investor but I hung on to Ford the other day and was rewarded with a double dividends. They paid out 30 cents instead of the normal 15 cents as they often do in February.

A nice boost for those putting up with Ford...

DXY is down quite a bit, indicating increasing liquidity.

10 year yields are down quite a bit - indicating high demand. Might be simply no new auctions? Would seem to indicate higher liquidity also.

Bitcoin collapsing, indicating low liquidity.

very confusing.

I got stuck in Ford for about 3 months...pulled the trigger today and I'm out with a good profit and stole the dividends last week which was 20k shares at 30 cents
So long sucker 😪 😆

Got bored, picked up AMZN this morning. Purchase price was $214.43 (just sold it at $217.55)

Not feeling comfortable but AMAZON will keep my eyes on the market as I look for something more. I could sell it in an hour or a year. Thought about this the day before but well.
I also thought it was a good buy at a higher price when I previously bought some at 120 but sold it off when it didnt go very far.

Current mix in rough numbers is META 50%, Amzn 25%, cash 25%

This is my spec Roth and looking for something for that other 25% Anything I ever post can change but like I held WMT for 5 years until the other day, right now I feel that META might be the next WMT for me, then again, I still love WMT I just think it MIGHT settle down some but I also think I might be wrong *LOL*

BTC is back down to early November pricing.

For those of you that follow this, and I know there are some here - is the word that this is due to the microstrategy blow up, or the Etherium hack, or ???

My only interest with BTC is its correlation to liquidity (until now). So why is it collapsing now?

Everything that was correlated, doesn't seem to be correlated today - or yesterday?
