“ There’s only a few companies driving the market higher and Artificial Intelligence craze is the latest buzz word for Wall Street. I’m taking profits and see another Dot Com bubble forming.

Nvidia stock is similar to Cisco back in 2000. “

From a PM recently sent to a BITOG member about my game plan.

That whole AI thing........."who" made that up? AI??

AI is the latest buzz phrase now that Chat GPT is up and running. Most investors don’t pay attention and for younger ones the mention of AI sounds cool so they jump in. It’s the big thing now after ESG.

That whole AI thing........."who" made that up? AI??
HAL (Heuristically Programmed Algorithmic Computer).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HAL_9000

The future looks grim ... 😂

"Dr. Chandra discovers that HAL's crisis was caused by a programming contradiction: he was constructed for "the accurate processing of information without distortion or concealment", yet his orders, directly from Dr. Heywood Floyd at the National Council on Astronautics, required him to keep the discovery of the Monolith TMA-1 a secret for reasons of national security. This contradiction created a "Hofstadter-Moebius loop", reducing HAL to paranoia. Therefore, HAL made the decision to kill the crew, thereby allowing him to obey both his hardwired instructions to report data truthfully and in full, and his orders to keep the monolith a secret. In essence: if the crew were dead, he would no longer have to keep the information secret."

2 years ago the RV industry was booming with trillions of stimulus cash and PPP cash handed out like Halloween candy. Folks buying RV cause they lots of free time and work from home.

Now people are broke, RV sales tanked and industry is downsizing with lots of layoffs.

Still no deals. Waiting!!

Ditto. I expect sometime in the not too distant future there will be lots of slightly used RVs being sold at fire sale prices. At least I'm hoping.
One thing to watch out for is, according to a cousin in the repair industry, there were plenty of RVs built at the peak with little thought to quality. Lots of overtime, pump 'em out the door, workers taking performance enhancing drugs to keep up, etc. Anything built after March 2020 should be inspected throughly.

This video is exactly how I feel about the current market situation.

Can these markets go higher ?
Yes, but proceed with caution.

I’m feeling pretty good about my long term hold (long term for me is a couple years) of WMT, precovid I paid less than $100 a share.
It’s been stable for a 50% unrealized gain

Shorter term sales of TMUS and WFC resulted in some gains. Daytrade of Schwab was for 10%

As posted some weeks back I purchased a significant amount (for me) of GM at $33

I’m now fully invested in just 2 stocks in my risky Roth = WMT and GM, can sell either one on a whim for profit. WMT for years hasn’t given me a reason to.
GM after owning roughly 6 weeks I could take 20% profit for the heck of it but I’ll most likely ride the ups and downs unless I can focus and not get side tracked by everyday life/other stuff.
Long term years I think very safe just depends if I want to try playing ups and downs which is something I can’t do easily and take serious…

Looking at the company stock that I own, wondering if I should put in... not sure what the term is, but I can put on a number that I want to sell at (won't sell below that). Bit volatile, missed a peak today. Wondering if I want to capture that money before any dip comes along.

Have more stock that hasn't vested yet. Can't sell that.

Thinking we are on the cusp of ending Fed QT, and seeing the 2yr yield at a 16 year low, I just went heavy into bonds. My account has popped the last few days! I believe more is to come over the next 1-2 years as inflation moderates and Fed rates plateau then fall.

I’m hitting new highs, let’s keep it rolling.

Had a nice year last year and this year also very nice.

Well glad to hear you are not holding all those short funds.

Those shorts , 3X oil and 3X natural gas were flavor of the month(s) last year.

*** Edit ***
I still believe storm clouds on the horizon.

Rug Pull will be decided when the Puppet Masters decide its time…..…

PWMDMD,

How will all these rate hikes affect the economy in 6-12 months ?
I stopped trying to guess the market as soon as I learned no one can guess what it will do. Not my idea but the idea of many authors who spent their careers on Wall Street. This has been a common topic on here, usually focusing on buy and hold vs trying to time the market, which ultimately ALWAYS comes down to it is impossible to do so, especially over longer time periods, and it includes other markets too like housing. This bubble was predicted to first pop years ago and several additional times since the start of CV-19. The markets are the final result of the interaction of 8 billion people - it can not be predicted accurately and anyone who claims they have in the past simply guessed correctly but their guesses will revert to mean as time goes on.

What will the housing market do in 6-12 months? No idea...I don't pretend to be omniscient and I don't believe in supernatural abilities to predict the future. All I have is a guess and I acknowledge I have no special knowledge or ability to predict the future and it is just a guess. I don't make important decisions about significant sums of money based on a guess and so I carry on doing as I always do. The ONLY prediction I will make is short of WW3 or a truly world-altering event, the market should be higher in 30 years than it is now. I make that guess because it's a simple 50:50 guess - the market will either be up or it won't in 30 years and I'm willing to take a 1-in-2 chance, especially if it not coming to fruition means the world as we know has ended anyway and at that point, my market return will be the least of my worries.
