“ Ebay could be on the hook for as much as $2 billion in fines for allegedly allowing hundreds of thousands of “rolling coal” pollution devices and other products that violate environmental laws to be sold on its platform. “

.
This is becoming more prevalent as time goes on, and at some point many aftermarket performance items won't be around anymore. Maybe only if it can be proven to be only used for "off-road" purposes, as these kind of modifications are already advertised to be used for.

You should be invested until the end of the year . Tomorrow should give you the opportunity to get in .

This whole oil thing blows my mind. Alternate universe here where I live? How much lower can it go, paid something like $2.84 a gallon for name brand Shell a few days ago. SO even if oil goes up 25% it's still cheap.

I am holding back a little, wondering if we need to pay more attention to the world events going on. Bit of a powder keg though maybe it's time for me to jump back into GM in my Roth.
50% of the Roth is WMT which I have had now for 5 ish years, bought in the 90 range.
Other 50% has been very speculative/done ok to well and recently had GM for a very short couple months but got out at no loss around 33.
Thinking about getting back in but keep waiting to go lower, seems safe at 4.5 times earnings though this strike isnt getting any better... so maybe wait for 25? *LOL*

What portion (%) of your portfolio is your Roth (if you’re comfortable sharing that)?

Yea ...... I bought some recently for $3.18 . I haven't seen it that cheap in a while . But oil prices are rising . Gas does seem to go down this time a year for some reason .

They used to call this stagflation.

No real growth, but inflation - sort of.

First rates are artificially low, now artificially high.

Fed is afraid of the sweet spot unnecessarily because they think they can control something without addressing the root cause.

I'm not positive interest rates are indeed artificially high right now. I am of the opinion we may well see late 70s/80s interest rates and inflation. This period right now may be the good old days.

My brother-in-law who is at least 3 orders of magnitude more knowledgeable than me in economics and finance matters (PhD, CFA, and more letters than I can recall) does not agree with me, so take my "the sky is falling" warnings with a grain of salt.

Jumped into the fire with GM minutes ago.

I hope I dont regret it. UAW will live stream at 4 on FB

GM offered an incredible package. I guess we will see how much.
I posted this in the Tesla Stock section already...
01:59 PM EDT, 10/20/2023 (MT Newswires) -- General Motors (GM) said Friday it has made an offer to the United Auto Workers that would raise most unionized workers' pay to $40.39 per hour, or around $84,000 per year.

"We have made substantial movement in all key areas in an effort to reach a final agreement with the UAW and get our people back to work," GM said in a statement.

The automaker said it would also continue to offer health insurance coverage with no out-of-pocket premiums or deductibles to senior workers.

The UAW did not immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires on the offer.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported late Thursday that the sides are close to a tentative deal, citing a union negotiator.

A union spokesperson earlier Friday told MT Newswires that UAW President Shawn Fain would make make a comment at 4 pm ET on Facebook Live.
