Based on how the unemployment rate is calculated, the only people not being counted would seem to be anyone who's eligable for unemployment but don't apply for it. Why would anyone do that, and instead have no income at all (ie, no job nor any unemployment)?

With the number of employed and unemployed state residents estimated, the labor force – the sum of the employed and unemployed – is determined, and the unemployment rate – the. percentage of the labor force that is unemployed – is calculated."

Perhaps another factor may be the way they count the "total labor force" is skewed for some reason. What about all the people who decided to voluntarily retire early? Are they still considered to be in the "total labor force" even though they never intend to look for a job again and can't sign up for unemployment benifits. If the total labor force number is artifically high, then the unemployment rate will be artifically low.

This one advertises 1.05% interest. What am I missing here? My "it looks too good to be true" warning flag is up. This would be my place to stash my 6 month emergency funds. If you Google this topic, there are numerous places advertising interest above 0.5% APY.
 
Personally I’d keep my emergency fund in my local bank, alongside my checking account, instead of taking a risk with some online bank chasing a miserable 1% interest rate.

Small investors buying these dips is like a tourist at the Grand Canyon getting too close to the edge while snapping a selfie.

They will soon regret their bad decision.

He's been getting into political stuff lately but it's pretty much factual, bothers some people but I guess that's the point. I enjoy his exposure of the lesser known scams and troublemaker in the investing world. Totally worth following, he doesn't post often, sometimes in 3-4 at a time, maybe once a week now. He used to go months without posting.
 
Early futures trading is a sea of red. 🟥🟥

Asian markets getting hammered. Japan’s Nikkei plunged over 700 points at the open.
 
It is looking ugly today. Asian markets down over 3%. Europe down big. The US futures are matching the trend. Nasdaq set to drop almost 3% at the open if this holds.

Some appropriate music.

You have to be in it to win it. What I mean is DCA on the way down. Not predicting when the bottom will be but buying a little on especially red days will pay off in the long run. Bear markets are usually shorter than bull markets.

I'm in and I'm "winning now".

Example:
On 5/27 I sold 16 SPXS June 17th cash covered puts for $1.30, bought them back today for $.03. Annualized that's 100% gain, $2050 gain in 2 weeks.

Most of my investing life I've been a perma bull, but not right now.

I like making $$ when the market is going up or down.

I'm a different type of investor, buy and hold. I am not knowledgeable enough so I don't get involved in puts and options, but it does sound interesting.
 
The Nasdaq is getting hammered, down 4.27% at this moment.

Crypto currency is also visiting the woodshed.
