Interval for Propeller Shaft Lubrication

I have a 2007 Tundra with 416,000 miles. I have greased the driveline with each oil change, which is typically 6,000 to 7,000 miles. In winter, when it is cold and wet out, I may skip it until the next oil change. :) Oil is changed every 3 to 4 months as we put around 500 miles a week on it. I use whatever lithium NLGI #2 I can find on Amazon or local autoparts store.

Have only replaced one U joint, and that was back at around 160,000 miles.

Spicer says 3kto 5k off road and 10k-15k regular road use on big stuff. I grease our fj every oil change 4k-5k max.

When we bought it with 151k I'm positive it had never been greased going off the complete lack of grease under it.

Iirc a few people posted on the 4Runner forums that some 5th Gens came with no zerks. I posted that the same driveshaft has been spec’d since 2012.
Fwiw my driveshaft was replaced early under a TSB for a clunk so maybe that’s why they came up with the new one in 2012.
With the free dealer services (4iirc) before the replacement they never included lube since the zerks were still painted shut.
I now grease the replacement every 10k

Edited for the year the new one came into production.
