Good Day All,

........I didn't get any responses to my post
below, so I thought I'd give another try,
and re-phrase the question.

Does anyone use Amsoil's Interceptor oil,
either as a pre-mix, or injection, in
small 'air-cooled' 2 cycle engines?

It doesn't speciffically state for 'air-cooled'
on the bottle or product brochures.

Thanks everyone,

Jimi

I'd run the Sabre at 80:1 ...the Interceptor is really for snowmobiles/PWC's with exhaust power valve deposit issues.

For high rpm, air cooled engines, the ISO-L-EGD spec is preferred, followed by a high temp, JASO FC chemistry. The Series 2000 would be preferred over the Interceptor, for example.

Ted, since when is series 2000 a egd oil? Being ashless, it cant be. Thats is unless whne the changed the name to dominator the re did the additive package. BTW the EGD spec is much better for powervalve motors which makes me question as to why Ams would make interceptor only a FC oil.

I ran the Series 2000 Racing oil at 50:1
since the moped was new.

Engine compression when new was: 145-147 psi.
Engine compression at 800 miles: 150 psi.

Ran the bike 800 miles, the spark plug was
always a tan color, very little exhaust smoke.

Pulling the exhaust pipe, I did find (2)
ridges areas of carbon in the small port.

Tried the Sabre oil at 100:1, ran the moped
for 30 miles, it ran fine, no smoke of course,
......but too little oil at that ratio.

Am now trying the Sabre at a higher mix ratio,
....my thoughts are: cleaning a little carbon
once in a while is not a bad thing.

.....Reckon the Interceptor oil has not
been out long enough for anyone to run it
through various applications, other
than what the product information states.
