This seems like a very simple modification that will allow a larger Caterpillar oil filter to be used on a 6.6 Duramax. It might be that the company that makes the product has something for other engines as well.

I didn't realize that this info had been posted.

It looks like a very simple installation. What was the problem?

The only one i could locate quickly was the same one D60 linked. I do recall as i said in that thread that there was another more extensive one. I recall that @dnewton3 had made at least one post in the prior one.

Since i don't have a duramax i did not absorb it past curiosity.

Sorry i can't give more detail.

Personally I’ll stick with Fleetguard filters. CAT doesn’t make the filters so it is another manufacturer anyway.

Just my $0.02

I'm starting to lean in that direction as well.

My interest in this system stems from hearing the Cat filters are well-regarded and because I used a similar oversized filter on my two 7.3 Powerstrokes with good results.

He's gotten big enough that people are starting to give him things. Can't say I'd blame him, I'd take free stuff and put it on my car too, so long as it wasn't complete BS. If Banks came knocking with some free swag, there would be Banks stuff on my Ranger.

Free stuff rules !

Nice mod so now replacement oil filters cost $30 instead of $6
Exactly. He took "oversize oil filter" to the next level, and then one more level. Oversize oil filters can be a good thing, for certain applications / circumstances, but this CAT commercial filter is just... whoa. I mean, dang bro.

At first I thought he installed this kit only because it was gifted from a subscriber. But the video doesn't mention a gift, only that the kit was found on Facebook marketplace. So Ray may have purchased this kit himself. Also I wonder about that small clearance from the prop shaft.
