At the rate at which I try all these new and fantastic fluids out, I think I'll have bypassed the old 30 year old pontiac in raw fluid changes by 2006.

Thanks for reporting your findings. I have a '99 ZX2 and see on the TeamZX2 forum that everybody is just recommending whatever they use. I've been using the same Redline D4 for the past 5 yrs and my 5 speed shifts great.

Like you said it's a little bit notchy on the 1-2 shift. I'm think I'll put in the MTL-P this spring.

I'm not far from you. I'm usually in downtown Detroit a couple of days each week, 5 mins from the Bridge. If you want to work something out and come over to pick up some Specialty Formulations lube then let me know. I'll be placing an order in the near future.

Thanks for the offer but I was a bad boy and can't go back to the States...or I could but you guys will have a warm welcome waiting for me

Even a bad lawyer will do...I'll get it cleared up one day...it is a game related offence...shot a deer and used my partners tag to tag it...in Canada it's legal but not in Michigan.The game wardens took everything...almost my new Jeep too but I think Canadian vehicles are harder to get registered than U.S. slated ones.Anyways this happened right after the Canadians refused to get involved in the Irac war and a marine from the area we hunt was killed in a drive-by over there...bad timing I guess.. the officers had no sense of humor..all business and they wanted to get me on anything...I could tell...sad because I love it over there...my bad and I'll make it right when I can afford it...very expensive and jail time is involved also I think....oh-well... have to go to Cuba instead of Florida to get warm

My 2005 Corolla (manual, of course) manual (errrm) says I should use a GL-4 or GL-5 75W90.

I wrote to RedLine to get their recommendations, and they said use MT-90 because :

Extrapolating that to the SF products, does that mean I should use the 75W85 MTL-P instead of the 75W90 MTL-R or synthetic 75W90 HDS-5?

Wouldn't I want to use the same viscosity recommended in the manual in a synthetic formula for the longest life and best results?

Sorry for being a n00b...I'ms still very wet behind the ears with all of this stuff...
