My old man has turned into a Cadillac aficionado, buying 2-3 year old CPO models. Well he was due for a new one and I just assumed when I bought my XT4 he'd inherit it in a few years, but he wanted to get back into a CUV sooner than I expected so off to him it went. I was planning to lease an Optiq, but he said I should take his old XTS with 140k, so I said why not. I've been driving it for a month, and have to say this boat of a car is one comfortable cruiser. I finally took it to the local car wash today for a much needed hand wash and the guy tried to sell me an orbital buff and wax for $200. I passed and he offered it at $150 so I said sure, best money I have spent in a while! This thing looks brand new! It has a bit of deferred maintenance, my dad was great about oil changes but that's about it. I plan to -

  • Replace CUE screen (it's finicky) I have one on order for $140
  • Engine and cabin air filters
  • Coolant drain and fill
  • Brake fluid swap
  • ATF and transfer case drain and fill (it's AWD :cautious:)
Otherwise I can't find much else it needs. One fob was completely dead and the other was warning me every time I started the car it was low, so I replaced the batteries in both and we're back in business there.

Beautiful car! I’ve always been a fan of Cadillac’s style, especially the newer CT5s and Escalades. What engine?

I’ve looked at a lot of ACDelco dealer parts and gotten quotes, still amazes me that dealers will charge $600-700 an axle for ACDelco brake pads and rotors, when you can get the same exact ones from RockAuto for <50% the cost.

Beautiful!! Good luck in your ownership 🍀.

I'd rather drive a car than a SUV or truck any day of the week . Nice vehicle 👍
Took the IS300 a few days ago - 6 hours to Louisiana. The interstate time was marvelous - however when the flooding started - wished for anything else in my signature 🙄
Took 8 hours going home checking the radar for best routes …

With everything going for the “catfish mouth grill” these days - always felt that Caddy was bold, yet proportionately styled …

What a beauty! Very nice for a 2017. Looks like new. I bet/believe that she rides like a dream. Really like that year/model.

Oh yeah. I bet. There were places around my area that ended up with 5" / 6" and even a 7" amount of rain in a little over 24 hour period. We have double windows and can barely ever hear anything outside. The first night of the rains , I woke up to what sounded like a big engine or a train at 01:00am. Looked outside and it was just that the rain was so hard and heavy , that is what the noise I was hearing was coming from. We had a river flowing across the back patio which is unusual for us.

Yep, tons of rain - one of the local guys left the event to go move some cattle … this little fellow moved himself 🙄
