On Wednesday I picked up a couple of quarts of Ingersol Rand SAE 30 compressor oil for an IR T10 air compressor. After looking at the back of the bottle, it specifically states "Not recommended for use in discontinued T10 and T21 compressors".

Now, nobody seems to be able to tell my why I can't use this oil or what kind of oil to use. I have even emailed IR about this and haven't heard anything yet.

What type of oil should I use?

A non-detergent, Rust & Oxidation (R&O) inhibited, SAE 30wt or 40wt oil....

I've had excellent results with the AMS. ISO-100 (SAE 40wt), compressor oil (PCK) in shop compressors. Service life in industrial compressors running 24/7 is 8000+ hours, vs 1000-1500 hours for a conventional fluid.

MSparks can get you more info if you need it....
