When a lab uses the wording 'inference of coolant' just what exactly does this mean?

a leaking head gasket

do a leak down test

The amount of sodium and potassium in the oil suggests coolant in the oil (which typically means a head gasket leak). But there can be other reasons for the sodium and potassium (normal oil additives or 3rd party additives), hence the word "inference".
