i replaced my k&n air filter long ago and use in its place afe air filter in my 4.6 98 interceptor....this filter flows better and filters lots more...i have 5000 miles on this filter and my throttle body and maf is spotless!!!! i can't believe it....this is just my obsevation

what kinda filter is that, what kinda media? perhaps a link so i can study
http://www.afefilters.com/Homepage4.asp.......our ford dealer is using these now in place of k&n because they say that k&n dities up the intakes...they are widly sold here in denver..
Does it look like they have more filter media that K&N? Can you see day light through them like a K&N
Don't recall the name but I saw one recently that claims to have more flow and five layers of media (4 of them cotton)... amde in the United States'.quote:

my friend has one of these and i looked at it, its very nice and very sturdy...cant see through it at all and makes a nice purrin sound.

From the pics. these filters look exactly like the TRD air filter that I have for my Toyota 4runner. They are built much better than the K&N just from the look and materials.I have not been using the TRD air filter since I wasn't sure how well it would filter, but maybe now I will try it again.One thing I can say is that with this filter in the truck had much better throttle response and the intake nosie was much louder.
