Considering your fervent zeal for Mobil 2T, there must have been some fantastic results, if not miracles performed from using it.

Would you care to share some examples of the benefits with us?

there are none, their equipment still runs, as does yours, only they opt to pay more $$

Actually, we have excellent overall results with M1 2t in Kart engines. The proof is in the lifespan, in particular, crankshaft life, ring life, and overall life.

2 stroke GP bikes did well on it too.

However, you are right, without scientific lab testing, this is just another one of Cujet's real world anecdotes, easily dismissed by the scientists. Just like all the other modifications people do to vehicles. Without proper testing, it can't possibly be better, faster, last longer etc.

Well.....

With that testimony, we are left with no choice but to put Mobil 2T right up there with the magic elixirs, fairy dust and guardian elves.

Head and shoulders above all other magic formulas!!!

so you compared it to?

I know this is a stale thread, but if you want to run synthetic in your 2 stroke whats the big deal ? Maybe it isn't 10 times better. But I thought we were all oil geeks on this forum because we love oil and respectively want the best..... Just an observation not sure what the big deal is, I always run synthetic and feel it does offer more protection, and its not much more so big whoop.

The "big deal" is that the OP claimed it to be "head and shoulders" better than conventional.

That is obviously misleading and completely incorrect. It may be fractionally better but certainly nowhere near "head and shoulders" above, and definitely not offering additional protection to offset the multiple(s) of cost.

Forums are not places for people to toss around unfounded claims. There are many people in need of unbiased and factual information. If people do not challenge misleading advice and we allow it to be taken as gospel, I believe that we're allowing the credibility of this forum to be compromised.

Opinions are one thing but unfounded claims are something else.

I picked up the last of the 2T at my AZ, but paid a lot more than 2 bucks a quart.
I like it because there is no smoke. but hate the smell-smells like iodine to me.
Got several years worth as well, as long as the bottles don't disintegrate first, which is an issue with this oil

Reviving an old thread.

So is there any synthetic 2 stroke oil on the market today for use in air cooled OPE that costs less than $5/quart that you would recommend ?
