If you HAD to choose one gun!

If those airguns become popular, ATF will want to be all over them in no time.

Then we will have to get licenses for a Red Ryder....

If you only own one firearm in your life, it should be a 12 gauge. Hands down the most versatile. Hunt Bear, Deer, rabbits or MICE! Buy a Mossberg to be good or go big and spend large amounts of cash!

Nothing wrong with a Rem 870 either

I have already chosen, modded Glock 21 with 12 shot mags and +p loads.

But did not a famous fella once say "You use a pistol to fight your way to a rifle you should have never put down in the first place"

In a SHTF situation Id hate to have anything but a long gun.

I heard "A handgun is a tool to get you back to where you left your rifle" not sure who is alleged to have said it.

I agree, which is why I asked "Why can I only have one gun" a while back...

Let them stare, they are just jealous.

To be really serious, you need a 12, a .22, a Magnum air rifle in .177, a Glock, and a bolt gun in 30-06 with a biggie scope on it and an AR.

If anyone is too shy to say it, there you have it. From a Canadian youngster with over 30 years of gunning experience. And I am not even 36 yet.

Americans, love your guns and don't let anyone let you feel bad about it.

I like your thinking. I have always said where I live in the ozarks everyone needs 3 guns. A shotgun for home protection/turkey hunting. A rifle for deer and a 22 rifle for varmints/plinking. The details don't really matter in my equation. Pump or auto shotgun is all in what the buyer prefers. Same with caliber and action of deer rifle. If you want a 300 win mag go for it. If your confident in your shooting the deer will be just as humanely killed with a 243 and a well placed shot.

cb_13... I was thinking of killing man-sized game with the -06... But deer is ok too.

Put a deer in front of this guy, and I'd lay it on the dead leaves with anything but the air rifle... It is the man-sized game you'd have to worry about...

And, aptly so, your forefathers feel the same way... Right on.

Edit: in a SHTF scenario of course...

At my age, 80, I'm not hunting anymore, so a gun is for protection only. My .45 Colt Commander that's been worked on till there's not a whole lot of Colt left in it, and it fits me like an old glove, is ideal.
