The placement of my cavalier's filter is agreeably stupid. At the back of the block tucked under the AC.

My tempo had the best location right at the front and could be reached with no effort or mess. My '80 malibu had it straight down underneath.

I love the BMW style cartridge filter/housing setup. No mess and filter changes are a snap.
