i want to clean a 2014 toyota Rav 4 throttle body and maf. i understand that it may need the idle relearn afterwards. i have looked for info on how to do it and they only show how its done with a regular keyed models. This one has a button start.

Anyone know how its done on the button start one?

I never had to do that. They are self learning, will adjust on their own if necessary. A 2014 should not have strayed away from factory defaults much.

After you clean the crud from the throttle plate, more air will flow and the idle speed will be higher. Normally after some time driving it will relearn itself and drop the speed back down. If not, most any mid level scan tool should do it.

Disconnect the battery, clean throttle body, reconnect battery. It's a Toyota so it'll probably stall the first time you start it up but it'll be OK the second time you start it up.

this was one of the services offered from the dealer for a 60k service. price quoted was $260. i offered to do it for them just to see if it made any difference .
