Sigh and a yawn....
4qt Idemitsu not advanced moly + 2qt PUP + FU filter. Drained, sent sample to Blackstone and refilled with 5qt PUP 0w-20. FU not changed. Report contains particle count (PC) and TAN results.

This 5K particle count is consistent with last year's 10K particle count but at 14 microns and higher, the 5K PC is half of last year's 10K PC.
Interesting. FU is doing the job!

Updated Apr 2019 particle count with 5K mi on 4qt Idemitsu not advanced moly + 2qt PUP 0W-20:

Last year's May 2018 particle count with 10k mi on TGMO 0W-20.

Updated: with jpegs.

Updated Information: listing all 0W-20 oil manufacture and the oil filter manufacture

Attached is the historical graph data using Blackstone Labs and Fabco Fabick CAT (Fenton,Mo) since 1st the UOA sampled @9318 miles.
There is a spike on 1/2/2017( 45978mi) Fe-8ppm , Cu- 7ppm, Pb-1 ppm from Fabco. This maybe a bad contaminated data sample at the Fabco lab since Pb has never been detected.
I should have asked for a redo.

Note: I have not posted the Fabco UOA ( too much work) but I have it in my excel spreadsheet.

Only listing wear metals: Fe Cu, Al ,Sn, Cr and Pb

Cleaned up the excel graph and focused on the Fe,Al and Cu wear metals.
The UOA detection accuracy is probably limited to +- 1ppm since there are VOAs with Fe contamination and the calibration of the ICP.

Yes, I started doing it around 40K mi and always a FU.
Before that I did filter and OC every 5K. There was one OC that went a little long to 6700 miles.

Comparative Particle Count

Filter D - A 5K mi PC run tested on 1qt of carried over old oil and 5qts of TGMO oil. The FU filter had a total of 10K mi.

Filter E- A 5K mi PC run tested on Idemitsu 4qts and PUP 2qts. The FU filter only accumulated 5K mi. 1 qt of oil left in the engine.

FU filters are amazing and the Blackstone Lab's PC testing appears to be repeatable.
