Ice storm pics

Here are some pics of how much Ice we got in Ohio. We got 3" of snow the day this pic was taken and the trees are mostly weighed down with Ice. Snow contributes, but the majority of it is Ice. The first 2 pics are the 15ft arbrovatae in front of our house and the 3rd is the crabapple tree. The power was knocked out of our house for 2 full days and keep in mind our house is a 2story. We usually keep the furnace around 70 and the living room got down to a cool 45* in those 2 days. We had no lights, no cable, no fridge, no nothing. My dad was in Cincinatti on business and was never here to actually see what happened during the storm but he got the idea when he came back that night the power came back on. It came back on about 11:30 that night.

Willard was like a ghosttown because seems like everyone was going out of town to Norwalk to stay in hotels or be with there families that had power. Back here, about every other house seems like had a Generator running. So, onto the pics. These were taken with my digital camera I got for free at xmas. It's an Argus DC1500 model. Not the greatest in the world but hey it was free and it's digital so I can't complain. Enjoy,,,,AR

Ohio seems to get hit with that stuff more often than most places, doesn't it? We get it occasionally here around Detroit, but not like that. Yikes. Hope you didn't lose too much food or suffer any other damages.

Kansas was hit harder I believe.

Over 20,000 people still without power in the Wichita, Newton, and El Dorado areas.

We got an ice storm about two weeks after we moved into our house. The room with the fireplace was full of moving boxes, so they had to be shifted around to get a fire going.

Luckily, we were only out of power for about 12 hours, most of it over night.

Our power is supposed to return around noon today.

I hope so, we're behind in filling orders already.

And thank God for Coleman Generators.

just saw this thread... I wish Id have taken some pics at our weekend house in the Pocono Mountains in Eastern, PA.

The ice was HORRIBLE! relatively large trees bent all the way down. power was out all over. Up to 100k people were without power, our place had none from thursday to saturday night. There was still nearly 50k people without power on Saturday! They were importing electrical contractors from CT, MD, NY, NJ, DE, etc to try and get stuff going again (septics, water pumps and furnaces dont like it much when there is no power!)

Ice storms are something else. Beautiful results, when you look at the glistening trees, etc., but horrible ones too!
