Sorry Matrix, put a fork in yourself, you're done. Four years ago, I joined, my head full of ideas about the vast superiority of Mobil-1 as compared to any other lubricant, and deeply convinced that any oil of "non-synthetic" origin was nothing but a recipe for sure automotive disaster.
Not only have I been disabused of my silly oil prejudices (well, some of them anyway...), I've met, albeit on line, a truly great bunch of guys (and a few gals too). At the top of the list of great guys is MCPO Tony Riek, United States Navy, Retired. Tony passed on about a year ago, and his wife Helen now carries the torch of keeping us on line.
Do stay with us; I think you'll find that this is a special place.

Since returning from my long stint back on active duty last year, virtually all of my recovering law practice has consisted of court-appointed criminal defense work, and probably half of that consists of drug cases, mostly crack (the distinctly UN-digital kind of crack), but plenty of meth too. But hey, we who keep this ship sailing must be doing something right if the flock sees the site as addictive on par with crack of any sort!!! Thanks -- you made my day!

Ekpolk...youre right about this being a special place. I cant get over the wealth of information on here for newbies (and im sure professionals). Bunch of great people whom don't mind answering questions without holding it against you if you are uninformed or just naive (at least to the most part...LOL)

Indeed this is a good place. I think some of us (me included) get pretty adamant about our view on oil and what car make is better than another, but we can disagree here and go away friends.
Folks like yourself, Gary Allan, Pablo, and many others are really valuable sources here that I have learned a great deal from.
I honestly think that this forum has a future ahead that could include a "Car Talk" type radio program on radio. There are many other forums on the Internet that will refer their people to this board for oil related discussions, so the name recognition is really getting out there.
As the forum grows, I can also see more expanded topics that delve even deeper into firearms, marine applications, four wheelers, etc. I think there is room for a full featured hypermiling section. Many of the former exist here, but they don't seem to have half as much participation as the PCMO and general discussion topics.
