Not really, but I am absent-minded, so it's not impossible for me to do that accidentally. What would happen to a relatively new Echo 2-stroke weed trimmer engine, if it was run without any 2-cycle oil mixed in the gas?

Would it get so hot, it would simply seize up? Would it re-start after it was allowed to cool? Permanent damage?

Curious....

Probably seize , will it start ? Will the engine turn over when you pull the rope ?I would bet the piston won't be pretty. I would try to start it and see what happens 2 cycle engines are tough.

When I was putting my Poulan blower out to pasture, it ran wide open for an hour on straight gas until it seized. Was using Mobit MX2T for oil.
