Two-cycle oil Formulations

Rotary valves are intake valves like reed valves are. Piston does dictate timing of intake events somewhat but there are other factors that affect cylinder filling and power curve which is in effect timing related.

2 stroke crankcase loads up while running with oil at idle, or low rpm/ throttle. Fuel is gone at that point. It’s just oil down there settling, waiting for intake velocity/volume/rpm to send through transfer ports into cylinder. Anyone who has operated a 2 stroke knows this well. Never mind those who have pulled them apart.

That's why motorcyclist go vroom-vroom with the throttle when at a stop. Totally has nothing to do it being fun, lol
