Yes, a localizer is a good option but is being phased out. An RNAV approach using RNP standards would be a more future proof arrangement. Easier setup..How about a localizer?

All you need is a reference point on your garage wall.
No good unless it has a vernier scale that reads to .001".
I sprayed a black dot on floor and open car door to see it, perfect distance from garage door.
I like this, but one could be an inch or two left/right.
Skill. Ever wonder how people can dock semis with 6 inches of clearance on either side? There ought to be some kind of product on the market that will help you park your car in the garage STRAIGHT. Some mirrors and laser beams or something. I want the car exactly centered in the middle of the garage and completely square with the four walls. My neighbors think I'm nuts because I'll get out of the car and walk to the front of the garage to eyeball the front of the car 4 or 5 times before I settle on what I perceive to be straight and square.
Our THW* local chapter does the same. If you have more vehicles than garage doors and want to have all vehicle doors and lockers accessible while parked, and you want your vehicles to get out as fast as possible in case of an alarm, you need to figure out a system which truck goes where and you need to strictly adhere to it. For some of our vehicles, it'a a matter of +/-20cm whether you can get the next vehicle out of the door without moving other equipment first or not. Trucks are also on trickle chargers, with the power cords coming down from the ceiling (so as not to get damaged by being rolled over by exiting vehicles). Impossible without floor markings. At the fire department we have painted lines on the floor as a guide.
Never really saw the need though.

Use 2 tennis balls. Some of you missed the part where he said it had to be square with all four walls . Tennis ball won't help that .
