I installed a FitcamX dash cam in my Toyota

I used the YouTube video below as a guide to install in my Venza. It was a bit of a challenge to get the OEM cover off and getting the new cover to snap in, but l eventually got it to work.

The best attribute is that it is stealthy and looks factory installed. No visible wires anywhere. The video quality meets my needs and l was able to connect my phone to download and review videos with relative ease.

I ordered it from their website and it arrived in about a week from overseas.

I don't have this model but after installing it via the suction cup method & it constantly falling down I bought a rear view mirror holder for it & voila. This one seems to be sturdy and ready to take advantage of the mirror install method. Looks like the update came straight from Toyota. (y)

I've got a FITCAMX in our Amazon shopping cart for my wife's Grand Highlander. Just can't decide on front-only or front and rear. I have to decide 'cause you can't add a rear camera later as they simply don't sell it seperately.

I'm considering one for my car as well and would probably go the mirror-mount option too. On the GH (above), the windshield is tinted which means NO suction-cup mount with it. Our son has had a front/rear dashcam in the box that he won't install because of tint. A mirror-mount would work for the front but not the rear.

Any issues with your lane centering? I saw one report of someone needing to get their system recalibrated.
If the VENZA camera is the same as their others, there's no interference. The camera comes with a duplicate "shell" that replaces the factory one with the camera mounted at the very bottom. Unless the person bumped or moved the built-in camera (not sure if that's even possible), I don't see why it would need recalibration.

It's a nice concept for sure. How easily can the SD card be retrieved from these?
The SD card is easily accessible but l haven't taken it out. The phone app works well enough to connect to the camera to allow viewing and/or downloading of videos. I will likely never remove the SD card.

I haven't noticed any difference.

I don't have a rear one but I've watched the YT videos of their value.

I bought the Rove 2-4k Camera. I went through it all. Suction & recently just busted out the super glue out frustration. Super glue terrible & didn't work so went to WM to buy some other "Flex Glue" in the automotive glue section. Ended up putting it over the top windshield tint strip. That glue didn't work either. Then I had the pleasure of trying to scrape the glue off while trying not to damage my tint from the razor blade. I did get it off but there were some cuts.

You can see the blob of it & also the new rear view mirror mount that has been flawless for the last month but I've not driven a whole lot either. Go straight to mirror mount, do not pass go & collect $200. 😄

I have had that one in my Amazon cart for a while. Ran across an article that rated different ones and this one was highly rated (and reasonably priced). It comes with a rear camera. Yours didn't ?

Just looked after posting this (this is an edit) and Amazon had a "lightning deal" on it for $122 so I snagged it. Must be part of the special, lower price, but it's slow delivery (earliest delivery will be Saturday or as far out as Tuesday).

Are you sure that the power going to the mirror assembly has sufficient reserve power for the camera?

Homelink mirrors do. They're powered via USB so the owner can run a splitter off the Homelink USB connection in that plastic housing. I currently have that setup with my Viofo front+rear.

It's Saturday and Amazon still hasn't shipped.... Irony is, if I bought it right now, at 12:51pm, they would deliver it between 5-10pm today. 😂

I'm a big fan of the quarter size octagon shaped disc on our Garmins that you stick to the windshield and the camera magnet sticks to. Removes easily to put up sunshade or hide. The shape positions the camera exactly every time. Main issue is the short 30 second upload it saves, tho the whole vid is on the SD card. And it also has voice activation, you can tell it to save, turn off mic, etc.
