Some of you guys know it by now, but I start my new real job on July 5.

The job itself is great. The package they offered me is jaw dropping.

The only bummer is; we will have to move. We really don't want to move from this area.

I want to thank the truly great folks here that helped me out. Over the years here I have developed some nameless friends that are truly matchless. There is one guy here in particular that went the extra mile for me. He didn't have to....pretty much without asking he helped me find a temporary living place near the work site. Awesome guy!

BTW - I found the job rather indirectly - I applied for a different job on the company's website directly- but the HR Director thought I would be a great fit for a different job. Smart guy!

Anyhow - they made the offer several weeks ago and you've seen my joke posts about physicals and stuff - but what my old company did to me still lingers a bit.....and I signed an agreement to not bad mouth them....but let me say this: some company management in the USA/world is really screwed up bad!

Pablo: Congratulations on the new job. All the best with it and the move to the new location.

Having been to Lynden a few times, I can see why you would say that. Beautiful area.

You must be heading South..

High Five on the new job!

Bummer that the location requires a move, but best wishes for your first week on the new job and finding & relocating to the new home!

Look at the bright side...

as long as you're moving more than 50 miles, you get an above-the-line deduction on your next tax return for your moving expenses.

Save those receipts!

And congratulations!

The company is paying for my moving, house hunting, temp housing (time limited), etc....rare these days, really rare in state!

But I'm sure I will incur uncovered costs, plus new financing for the new house, etc....

Don't get me started on that.....when I had to move, Congress changed the mileage up to 75 miles and since my move was "only" 58 miles, I missed out on the deductions......and now that I don't plan on moving again, they it back to 50!

Congratulations, Pablo!
