So after my experience with hardly being able to find any 5W-20 last week, I've decided to relent and start stocking up.

This morning I bought out all the Pennzoil Platinum 5W-20 that our local AA had...26 quarts altogether. Of course it was the BOGOF offer, so that made it much more palatable. I also bought four filters: 2 each of Purolator PureOnes and 2 each of Purolator PremiumPlus'es.

I'm going to use the PP for the 07 Accord and, if I can find it in enough volume, the MC for the 07 Escape.

Does that make me an oil "whore-der"?

You're a Group I whoreder.

A group II whoreder is still running SL leftovers from previous closeouts (and not through any conscious choice.)

Group III whoreders buy stuff like Delo 30 that's not even close to spec for their cars. Their lawnmowers will take years to use the stuff.

Group IV whoreders have to hide it from the landlord, spouse, fire department.

Group V whoreders will read a post about someone running Valvoline full synthetic and remember a sale from 2003 then assume the original poster got the stuff for free after rebate. They can rattle off the "rebates" section of this BBS since its inception. They have photos of their stashes.

Group VI whoreders carry these pictures in their wallets.

I'm a group III & IV blend. I run $.99/gallon Delo SAE30 in my Jeeps (I have 20-something gallons left)and have to hide any new oil from my wife. She also hates my 420+/- qt stash

Because every time see looks at the stash, she thinks of how many new outfits she could have for the amount of money "invested" in the oil.

What I have in oil, she has in shoes. The only difference is that I have 7 vehicles to maintain while she only has two feet.

Well, I guess you're right, eljifino. But I'm just getting started...watch my stash grow!

Bwahahahahahahaaaaaa...!
(Now rubbing hands together in deliciously sinister manner.)

Well, The whole middle shelf is now gone, as is most of the bottom, but I have added some PP and Pen. Dino.
I knew I had a problem when I had to add supports to my shelf when they started sagging because of the weight.
My stash is now under the workbench, so my wife never knows when I get more.

No camera to post so here's my list..

1) 32 quarts of Amsoil 5w30 SYN motor oil
2) 35 quarts of Motul 5w30 SYN motor oil
3) 18 quarts of Mobil 5w30 EP SYN
4) 6 quarts of mobile 0W-20 TRI-SYN
5) 32 quarts of VP street SYN 5w30 motor oil
6) 9 quarts Mobil SYN ATF

Yes I hide it from the wife...

I have been telling myself that I was not going to hoard oil, but the $.99 PP was too much to take.

Currently have 96 quarts for 4 vehicles, and 6, 5 quart jugs of ST for ARX cleanings/rinse.

Gosh, and I feel like an idiot 'only' picking up 4 Motorcraft filters at WallyWorld to stuff in my locker at work. Those 4 filters will last one whole year. I better grab some more
