The fram was what I expected from cutting open other frams. Took about 2 minutes (scissors and hand power) to get the thing apart enough to measure how much material is in it.

This FRAM had the same number of pleats. However, instead of the media being 93.5 square inches, my filter was 101.25 square inches. Still an awefully low amount of filter media compared to other filters, nonetheless. The pleats on the filter were not straight and didn't look confidence inspiring. The element was also noticably weaker and more easily torn than the ST's.
What really impressed me as the ST build quality. Mostly even pleats, no sideways and crimped looking pleats and strong glue. It took 10 minutes of using knifes to get it apart, because the scissors and my hand power was not enough to do anything to the element. Total area for this filter was 119.25 square inches.

The part of FRAM's glue sticking better is total crap. Ripping fram's glue apart (at room temperature) was easy. Even after 20 minutes of fiddling, I can't get enough torque to remove the filter from the glue/filter assembly. This material is also much stronger than the FRAM's filtering material.
Personally, I have no problem using this filter whatsoever. It will become my filter of choice unless I race the car or I decide I want to stop buying from Wal-Mart.
Oh yeah, and it looks like the Orange Wall of Doom is shrinking and ST is growing. Last time I went there the stock of ST's were half gone. This time they were fully restocked!
