^ this shake each bottle for a min or two and pour it in!!

Mix it with some tequila and you are golden.

As long as the vehicle/vehicles you plan on using it in called for SL [or lower] rated oil shake it up and go for it.

But do you really think engines changed in '05 so all of a sudden require a different oil??? The SL/SM change limited zinc to hopefully allow the catalytic converters to last the 150K mi the Feds mandated they must be warrantied(also so the mfgrs can get away with saying a engine has no issue unless it's using more than 800-1200 qt per mile)... Assuming the oil is still in orig spec you could run it any SM rated engine and probably SN as well without mechanical issues... It's no doubt happened on several occasions...

Many of us consider the SL oil to be superior to SM...

While looking for deals at Oreillys I saw a Pennzoil synthetic blend bottle SH rated. They wanted $6.59 for them!

and many of you would be be wrong...

All the test parameters are tighter for SM vs. SL, from engine wear to oil properties, and all of the hand-wringing about ZDDP has been proven to be nonsense in modern engines. Besides, I don't really view better cat-compatibility a bad thing since my cat system costs about 3 times what an new engine would cost.

That said, I'd use the SL-oil no problem, I just wouldn't use it for an extended drain. If I were putting it in someone else's car though, I wouldn't do it unless it met the spec, i.e. an older car.

Not all of us have ONLY modern engines, 33.3% of my fleet has flat tappet cams and 50% have no catalytic converters...
