Every year around this time I book a half hour test drive at a place called Exotic Car Tours, and I drive one of my dream cars. In previous years I have driven the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Ferrari 360 Spyder. I had an appointment this morning to drive the Audi R8, but when I arrived there they told me that a couple of days ago when they were out for a drive with a few of the cars, a transport truck lost it's load of wood and two of the cars were damaged, including the R8. I was disappointed for a few seconds until I realized that I probably could talk them into letting me take out their Lamborghini Murcielago instead, even though it's normally $250 for the half hour (vs $150 for the R8 and the other two I've driven) Lucky for me, they let me do it! It was an incredible experience! The car is incredibly fast! It's not stock, they have changed the exhaust and they also converted it from all wheel drive to rear wheel drive (which frees up a lot of horsepower due to less parasitic drag) So it's probably putting out very close to 700hp! I behaved myself most of the time, keeping it at or near the speed limit, but I did have about three opportunities to go full throttle for a good period of time and it was exhilarating! I'm still grinning from ear to ear even though this happened earlier this morning

Me too! For years this car has been painted in a police car color scheme (black and white) and had a light bar on the top and it said INTERCEPTOR on the side in big bold letters, and I thought it looked tacky. But over the winter they switched it up to this color. I thought it was a wrap, but the owner (who was the one who rode along with me during the drive) told me it's actually Plasti-dip! I didn't realize you could plasti dip an entire car, let alone do it in colors other than black or gray. It only cost about $1000 to do, which is cheaper than a wrap and way cheaper than a full paint job.

That's freekin awesome. About a million years ago in a different life I got to ride in a Countach. The engine sound itself is worth the experience.

The last of the old-school Lambos. Looks awesome.

Definite [censored] license plate though. I hate it when I see supercars with stuff like that.

Haha I can tell by your post you still have some adrenaline going. Looks like a blast.

My dad has a late model Porsche 911 and I always feel the same way whenever I get to ride in or occasionally drive his car.

To be able to get to 100+ mph in a few seconds with no effort makes it a whole new world in any one of these cars.

Then I step back to reality and get in my wifes Sienna.

That license plate was more in line with when it had the police getup on it, as it made more sense then. They don't have personalized plates on any other vehicles in their lineup though. I agree it would be a tacky plate for someone to have on their own personal exotic though, it's too braggy, but for it's old paint scheme it made sense at the time.

When they add an Aventador to their lineup, I'll be one of the first in line to drive one! Same goes for when they get a Huracan as well (although since there is a two year waiting list, it will be a while, especially since this place doesn't buy the cars new, it's way cheaper for them to buy 3-4 year old used models for half the price of new)

I was next to an Aventador at a traffic light...

It sounds like a spaceship / motorcycle / F1 car.

The sound of this car was incredible, especially with the aftermarket exhaust on it! At one point we had to drive under an overpass and I gave it full throttle and the sound was amplified even more and brought a smile to my face

Do donut munchers hang around the outside of this place? Would be easy picking :-) Like nabbing drunks outside a bar!

Made sense with the car's old paint/graphic scheme!

The owner told me that they rarely get hassled by the police, as most people behave themselves driving these cars, at least they do on the streets near their building (since those streets have very poor pavement, so you really can't speed in a supercar there)
