I bought it just to see what it was made of. The can seems real solid, but it does seem like the media is super thin.
One more thing that bugged me was the bypass valve (clicker style) If you push on it hard, it doesn't seem like it would open enough for good oil flow.

The ADBV seems a bit on the flimsy side as well, a bit thicker and more flexible than the Frams.

Not too bad of a filter for $1.99, but I don't think I would run one of these.

This one is Made in Mexico, I'll get more pics of the bypass in a few hours.

It seems the Mexican made ones have a flat baseplate, and the USA ones are kindof domed.

The plot thickens.

Looks like my "fake" AC from ADvanced auto.

I thought Champion was converting that factory to be the same as the US ones.

My bet it is the same (except for the color) Mexican ST 3600 AKA Champion that Wally World is selling in my area for $2.07.

You have good vision. I'll get a ST when I get a chance to go to WM. I'll sacrafice it and post some pics.

The Valuecraft($1.99), supertech($2.07), and STP($2.99) 3600 filters should all be the same filter, made by champion labs in mexico. The only differences between the 3 should be color and stickers. The motorcraft for $2.77 is a way better quality filter IMO. I would run any of these filters on my car though, they will all work just fine. Way better than the orange can of death.
