Don't you put other junk mail in the envelope? I take the other junk mail offer and send it to them.

Let their landfill deal with it.

Yeah, I send their junk own plus other junk mail, and whatever else fits -- like wheel balancing weights.

I run whatever they send me thru a shredder to destroy my name and adress then put it back in the envelope and return it. Never thought about adding extra weight. Will start doing that immediately. The well of wisdom is bottomless on this site...

Put something stinky in the envelope!

There was a guy who heated his house with junk mail. He gave his address to as many junk mailers as possible, and ran his woodstove on the resulting paper logs.

My wife had a Holiday Season trick she used to play on everyone we sent card to. She would fill the envolope with sparkles or confetti. It's really created a mess. She learned quickly to open our cards carefully since a couple of people swept up the glitter and stuff and sent it back with their card ..along with whatever their dustbuster collected in the process. She abandoned it after 9/11 due to anthrax scare and whatnot ..but I think something like this would be appropriate for our fine junk mailers. Floor sweepings make such fine gifts.

You can also black out the address and barcode and just use it to mail within the country, postage paid. Not sure if it always works, but my dad uses them for that!

I sometimes go one further, and fill out any blank space on applications to be returned with crazy fictitious return address information, such as:

Ulysses Grant
Riverside Drive
New York, NY.

I use to mail back other stuff but gave it up. I just dont have the time anymore to do it.I knew a guy who use to stick chicken bones in the enevelopes.

From what I understand that is illegal in some states. I guess the people these telemarketers were calling and sending junk mail got really upset.
