You're joking, right? It's common knowledge that BMW requires Castrol TWS 10w60 for the M3. Every dealer knows this and is required to stock this oil.

I start to like this Castrol stuff more and more despite some shearing. But if it's the only disadvantage, I would close my eyes. Naturally it may be a coincidence, but results with Castrol 5W-50 looks more then decent:

Seems necessary to try it. Anybody knows why Flash Point has become lower with API SL: 430 F against 480 F three years ago ? Now we have both on sales and I would buy SJ stuff, but not sure if the last SJ stuff still has 480 F.

I've never seen a high flash point for the D-Basic Ester used in motor oil and this oil uses some in the formulation .

It is simalar to the Castrol TWS 10w-60 in terms of basestocks used .
