I always thought pro basketball was rigged......

The reason we get spanked internatioanlly is because the rest of the world hasn't forgotten how to play as a team, rather than the NBA style of playing like a crew of hotshot allstars.

Exactly and the game is rigged by the ref!

The Division final game in 1994 where Scotty Pippin, w/o M.J. almost put the Bulls in the Finals was always in question to me and my friends who all gathered to watch that game.

The call at the end of the last game...the alleged foul on Pippin, sealed the Bulls fate that year. My friends and I always wondered if the referee that called that "foul" had his pockets stuffed with greenbacks that the IRS didn't know about. It wasn't a foul at all, but it disallowed the Bulls from going to the finals.

I wonder who that ref was...and if he'll be named in this scandal.

Don't worry, I'm sure the "real" game didn't go that way. What we see is only the manipulation of the media, trying to make us look bad.

haha - I'm sure there are parts of the story the media screwed up. But pro basketball is more than tainted and it's been proved. This is a pretty huge hit, but the "numbies" will continue to watch it. (I'll bet attendance is down for 1-3 years)

TnS - there have been TONS of questionable calls. In some sick way - it's almost a relief to know the games were rigged for sure.

I'll go back even further. In a Knicks game (late 60's-early 70's) Earl "The Pearl" Monroe caught an inbounds pass in the corner of the Knicks' opponents goal with time running out (and the Knicks ahead). Surrounded by opponents, Monroe threw up a prayer that went in to the other teams goal to keep from beating the point spread. As his team was comfortably ahead, the shot was totally unnecessary, besides being in the wrong goal.
