I just drove from northern Va. to Jacksonville, Florida via 95. Then I-10 west to Santa Rosa Beach. Never had a trip that smooth. Left at 830am on Friday and arrived Sat. Afternoon. There were no slow downs, not even from DC to Fredericksburg, which always has slow downs and stops. Southern NC has miles of jersey walls but little work being done. SC and GA have fixed the concrete roadway. Gone are the missing chunks of concrete that leave wheel breaking holes. I was impressed.

Glad to hear that you found 95 here in SC in good repair. Mostly I hear complaints that it is only 2 lanes each way through our state and that causes some backups at times. But I agree, my last trip from Charleston to Florence showed rather good attention to maintenance.

It's just two lanes but it's like Talladega where everyone is nose to tail, 2 wide, and you hope no one lets up off the throttle or there's going to be a mess.

I know what you mean and have been in that situation a few times. . My last trip up I-95 started at 6 AM so little traffic. I set cruise at 80 MPH (and had a lot pass me by going faster). The SC state troopers don't seem to care about 80 MPH in 70 MPH zones and I've seen several pass me by with no flashing lights on.

Very helpful thanks.....
How about southern gas prices 🤔
Been bouncing around the Northern half of Florida this week - seems to be around $3.20 +/-

Couldn't tell you on I-95 across SC and GA. I drove it Monday, but I don't gas up there. They always way overcharge on the interstate in both states. I fill up before I leave. If I had to stop on that stretch do so at a place with lots of competition - Florence, Manning, Ridgeland...

That area is usually far cheaper than my area in MD which is in the $2.90s...thanks

The Loves in Dillon, SC has regular for $2.64 w/ the Love's App
We travel NJ to West Palm Beach each Feb. We us Loves as their gas prices are very fair and their bathrooms are clean. They usually have a Fast food place next door though we usually refrain from fast food. If you get the Loves app they give you 10cents a gallon. The clean bathrooms are a big plus on the road.

All lanes were open in SC. In the past few years you could break an axle hitting some of those holes. Cruised at 80 the entire trip. Regular gas was under $3 all the way down.
