Hyundai Sonata Oil after 3k

I use Valvoline Nexgen oil and a Napa filter on my last oil change and after 3k miles the oil is still a golden brown color and Full. I am very pleased with these results becuase of known DI engine sludge problems..i think I will let it go for 300 more miles and then change it out since alot of my driving is short trips here and there.

2009 was also DI? I thought it was just the new models.

i didnt know that DI has a problem with oil sludge? i thought they had problems with gunk/carbon build up on the intake valves.

i've heard they have problem with oil dilution not sludge?

Go with the oil monitor.It may look golden at 3k but could turn ugly on the used oil analysis at 6k depending on the usage.I once had a Nissan that would never change color(noticeable anyway), I still changed it per mfgr's recommend.

Maybe you guys are right I was getting it mixed up..it is carbon build up for the DI engines.

No DI on a 2009 2.4L. Hyundai oil schedule is 3750 severe & 7000 regular. No oil life monitor either.

thanks for the clarifications...i didnt think it was DI but I had people telling me it was guess i should listen to myself instead of others sometime.
