How true! My oldest son bought a 2000 Ford F-150 XL, new and the original tires, BF Goodrich Radial TAs, finally wore out at 117,000 miles. Then because of belt separation...not tread wear!

As for Hyundai quality, a woman that works with my wife bought a new Santa Fe last year and had numerous electrical problems with it. The "fix" was more or less a new dash board.

Been fine ever since.

Now that you mention it, I think my stepfather's 2004 Heritage F-150 STX still has the original tires.

You arent kidding,those roads up their are worse than PA & LA roads combined! (Louisiana not Los Angeles)

Dealer visit is next scheduled for wednesday (10/6/2010). They agreed to give a discounted price for an all-wheel alignment ($90). If this would have been my car, and I was sure I didn't abuse it in any way, I would have pushed harder for them to cover more. Since my mother-in-law, and her husband, drive the car, I can't see pushing the issue any further since I don't have a first-hand account of all the driving that has taken place with the vehicle since it was driven off the lot.

Serious as a heart-attack my man. I haven't had tire wear or handling characteristics that warranted one, since the mid-late 1980's. It's a very over-rated and over-abused procedure in my book.

I suppose you could look at it that way, especially if it's only off a little. But when tires cost $800, I do all I can to squeak out whatever extra mileage I could. I've done alignments on my truck almost every year and it's typically off a bit - plus, I try to miss any potholes. I'm really amazed at your luck.

Perhaps it's vehicle choice. I haven't done one on the Honda and it's roughly 1.5 years old now. Seems fine.
