Hi

Just picked up a new Hyundai iload van commonly known as a h1 or i800 in. Other markets

It's fitted with a dpf and they spec acea c2 oil

Is it correct I can use c3 or c4 , or must I only stick with c2 as I have found it difficult to find and understand the differences

Thanks

I might be hard to find a C2 oil, but C3 are everywhere, and C4 getting more common. Just use C3, it'll be perfect for the job.

I typed into google "acea c2 vs c3 oil"

Quote
C1 and C4 are low-SAPS oils, while C2 and C3 are mid-SAPS oils. On the other hand C1 and C2 oils have lower HTHS viscosities, while C3 and C4 oils have higher HTHS viscosities. ... E4 and E6 oils offer longer drain intervals where the engine manufacturer allows it while E7 and E9 are designed for medium drain applications.

So as mentioned above it looks like you could use c3 in a c2 application but that is about it.

Seems to gel with what penrite has come back to me with

Their c3 covers both so their suggestion was go with it
