I think he's talking Canada prices. But I doubt PYB is that cheap up there.

I know that the additive package in ST is not very strong. The numbers are practially the same in their conventional and dont have a moly content. Its pretty weak compared to QS synthetic which is $1 more than ST. But my car runs just fantastic on ST so I would still use it over PYB being a HUGE Pennzoil fan. Once these changes is up in my changes Ill never use ST over PP or PU again.

I've wondered this exact question before. It feels like I've even asked this on here.

It is a good little debate. Here's how I look at it. Every single oil in the UOA section is good as long as it's matched properly for the engine (aka, not running 5W-20 in an old school diesel).

With that said, the better of the two would depend on your location. Maybe you can get the synthetic in a weight that flows better than any PYB weight. This is speculation, as I'm not even sure that SuperTech makes a 0W-30. Do they?

The hardest thing about this is that all oils are actually great these days. So, really, it comes down to two things, imo. Price and cold flow start up. Pick what is the most important.

But, to give my opinion on it...
I live in east Tennessee, hot summers, cold winters, and I'd probably have to go with PYB out of the two. Except I run RTS 5W-40 in my 5.0 EFI flat tappet for the extra zinc/phosphorous.
