It costs twice as much but you're supposed to run it more than twice as long. Then add in the fact that you're running a better oil than OTS the entire time and the benefits should be clear to those even with basic math skills.
For myself, I spend over $4k/year on fuel alone. What's an extra $50 in oil?

It would need to be closer to 2.5x the OCI for it to pencil out just looking at that aspect.

I don't own anything exotic or run it to the extreme to warrant that. Probably makes sense in a race car or other high performance type of built engines.
In a lawn mower... that's funny. I did small engine work as a side thing for some years. Only times I saw lube failures was from the lack of any, or seriously contaminated... full of fuel, water, or hadn't been changed in years and years and years... like bought the mower in 2005 and it's still the factory fill..
