I was interested in this oil for my 21 LC and also for my 4Runners. I live in the mountains of NC it gets cold here in the Winter but may have a week in the winter where it’s in the single digits, other than that it stays in the low 30’s the average in the winter. All vehicles are garage kept (heated) so morning cold starts are 45f that’s what we keep the big garage set on in the winter.
I’m running HPL EURO NO VII right now with yearly oil change in the LC. I really don’t drive it in the Winter, just the 4Runners but, in the summer I tow my bass boat a lot with the LC.
I noticed that the 5/15w-50 HTHS is 4.2 but the 10w-40 HTHS is 4.0, can anyone tell me why that is? Also, there doesn’t seem much difference in the cold start temp between the three either (cold pour point) think any of the three would be good year round.
What are your thoughts on which one you would use B out of the three?
