Hello there, I'm getting close to the end of my drivetrain warranty in my 2021 GMC Canyon w/3.6L and 8L45 and was thinking about changing the trans fluid to HPL's Green ATF. I was wondering if anyone has some long term reviews on this fluid? Hopefully in an 8L45 or 8L90 transmission.

Since I have a 2021 my transmission is supposed to have whatever fixes GM to cure the shudder. I dropped the pan and replaced the fluid and filter at 25k with Mobil1's LV ATF HP Blue bottle. I figure at 60k I'll change to HPL Green ATF.

Anyone have a long term review on this fluid? Thanks!

Ask @High Performance Lubricants, they probably have a fleet customer or personal vehicles they can provide some data for; not sure if @wwillson has done his Duramax trans yet or not.

Why? The Mobil appears to have good specs and it is recommended by GM in Tsb 18-NA-355.

I have been testing the HPL GreenCC for a year now and have seen better cold weather performance.

I have HPL green (LV) in my 10L1000. Shifting is flawless. There is no longer the slight shudder that it had occasionally shifting under low power. My Tahoe's 10L90 will also get HPL green when I do the first spill and fill. The 10L90 also can have a shudder shifting under low power. We'll see if the HPL green fixes that too.

Well, teal is a form of green though more bluish-green. I'm not sure if HPL Teal and HPL Green use different dyes. I was referring to the product name. If I had to guess, for HPL Teal they probably mix in the dyes from HPL Blue and HPL Green.

We have several million miles of success with the Green ATF in these. Our additive supplier has even more. It is a very safe bet and uses a lot better base oil than an off the shelf product.

The Teal would work as well I am just personally not a fan of the lighter and lighter oils. Unless we are talking about Pro Stock cars.

At the eCVT and Rear Axle, I just replaced recently filled Toyota Genuine eTransaxle Fluid TE with HPL Teal.

As a San Jose Sharks fan, I can say it is definitely teal in color, not green.

Also it has KV 100 of 4.6, whereas eTransaxle Fluid TE haa a KV 100 of 3.3, and Toyota Genuine WS (still spec'd for numerous similar vehicles) has a KV 100 of ~> 6.

This is all called a happy medium.

I’ve had the Green CC in mine for almost 24k now (101k total) and it shifts better now than it did with only 24k total on the truck.
