So I got a refurbished MP3 player recently. I've purchased a few of them in the past with no problems. I hook the new one to my computer, dump the factory pre-loaded songs and start putting my music on it. It stops after two albums with the computer indicating "You don't have permission to copy files" (or something like that). I disconnect the player to cycle the connection and try again. The player displays "FAT corrupted, connect to computer to fix" (again, something like that)... and then it died. I tried the usual connecting it to the computer, power cycling, reseting, random button pressing, but it was dead. Shipped it back today, I'll try another.
I'll bet not too many MP3 player owners encounter a "corrupted FAT" error. You know that error message was dredged up from the depths of the operating code.
