how to lower hydrocarbons for emissions test ?

I haven't changed the spark plugs or wires. I think I brought the car used at around 135k miles and I am on 170k miles now. I haven't preformed a piston soak yet either. What would be the cost estimate from a mechanic for these things? a 95 Accord isn't worth much and the repairs might be more than the car is worth.
All this, and the plugs and wires have not been changed? All this about Redline, shell 93, iso heat, need to pass emissions etc, either you are lazy or you are trolling this forum.

EDIT: If you are not trolling, you need to replace the disributor cap, rotor, wires and spark plugs properly gapped.

Also, there is no point in doing anything else if the timing belt has not been changed, If you have never had it changed, you need to. You risk engine damage if you don't , and it breaks.

there isn't any coolant leaking so I thought I don't have to replace unless it is leaking? this should be done every 100k miles and I am only at 170k miles.

I already passed the smog previously by replacing o2 sensor and cat from the previous 2 years ago. Now I need a new smog check and ran into these issue and need help again.

Do you know 100% that the previous owner did the timing belt before you bought it? Not leaking coolant is not a reason to not replace it at the correct intervals. If the previous owner did the belt at the correct interval of 90k, its about due again at 180k.

This will not affect emissions, but if you do the work to get it to pass, then lose the engine from a timing belt end of life failure, its all a waste.

We are trying to help you. If you have never replaced the spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor and wires, they need to be inspected. Do you know 100% at what mileage and when they were last changed by the previous owner?

If not, look at the inside of the cap, check the rotor edge and inspect a spark plug/ check the gap and electrodes for erosion.

What?
Why would you think that leaking coolant is an indicator for needing to replace your timing belt?

I think you need to open up the owners manual, and look at the list of maintenance items that should have been done, and get them all taken care of. I bet your car passes the test after its all taken care of.
